Boosting confidence & Wellbeing in teenagers - an Interview with TDE Tutoring
I recently spoke to the lovely Jenna from TDE Tutoring about how I feel passionately about mental health and improving confidence in young people.
We discussed lots of really interesting things, including:
some of the strategies I use whilst teaching to help students change their mindset and boost confidence
why progress, not perfectionism, should always be the aim
how to regulate your stress responses to become less anxious and overwhelmed
holistic goal setting
the challenges of modern schooling and social media for teenagers
how strategies from cognitive behavioural therapy can help us deal with challenging emotions
what it was like working in schools!
It was such a great chat and it helped me reflect about how far I’ve come in my own confidence journey. From a very anxious and shy young woman who was riddled with self-hatred to the more confident, self-accepting and open person that I am today. I’m really passionate about helping young people to do the same and recognise how much value they have in the world.
I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did! The video is linked here. Please do like and leave a comment for Jenna and I if you can spare the time.
