Boosting confidence & Wellbeing in teenagers - an Interview with TDE Tutoring

I recently spoke to the lovely Jenna from TDE Tutoring about how I feel passionately about mental health and improving confidence in young people.

We discussed lots of really interesting things, including:

  • some of the strategies I use whilst teaching to help students change their mindset and boost confidence

  • why progress, not perfectionism, should always be the aim

  • how to regulate your stress responses to become less anxious and overwhelmed

  • holistic goal setting

  • the challenges of modern schooling and social media for teenagers

  • how strategies from cognitive behavioural therapy can help us deal with challenging emotions

  • what it was like working in schools!

It was such a great chat and it helped me reflect about how far I’ve come in my own confidence journey. From a very anxious and shy young woman who was riddled with self-hatred to the more confident, self-accepting and open person that I am today. I’m really passionate about helping young people to do the same and recognise how much value they have in the world.

I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did! The video is linked here. Please do like and leave a comment for Jenna and I if you can spare the time.
